Ryan Unger joined the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC in July 2021 as President & CEO, bringing with him over 20 years of community and economic development experience on the local, regional, and state levels.

As the visionary and dynamic leader of the Chamber & CREDC and its staff, Ryan uses his leadership and guidance to make the organization inclusive, data driven, collaborative, and unapologetically positive about our region. Ryan believes in serving as a champion and advocate for our region and its business community.

Ryan provides vision and strategic direction for the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC and develops and maintains solid working relationships with its members, the community, and government officials. Ryan represents the Chamber & CREDC at events and meetings that are important to the organization and the business community.

Ryan currently serves on the board of directors for the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association and the board of advisors for Harrisburg Young Professionals. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Harrisburg, the Friends of Midtown, and the Historic Harrisburg Association. He serves on the Penn State Harrisburg Board of Advisors and is a Community Impact Advisor for Harrisburg Area Community College.

Ryan is a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Committee of 100. This group of 100 local and state chamber executives advises the U.S. Chamber’s board of directors, enhance lobbying and coalition work, recommend programming, and strengthen outreach to the business and chamber communities.

Ryan is a resident of Midtown Harrisburg.

Phyllis Hicks BSN, RN, CLSSGB is the Executive Director of the Kidney Foundation of Central Pa. (KFCP) which recently celebrated 40 years of service to families living with chronic kidney disease in 28 counties covering an area of the NY State to Md borders.

She will be the presenter of the Rotary Club of Susquehanna Township's "Service Above Self" recognition to the educators who are selected by their peers and students who are selected by the ducators.  Phyllis has been a member of the Rotary Club of Susquehanna Township since the Spring of 2022 and has helped out with the Interact Hope Hanna Garden and now working on a project with other club members for the HELP Ministeries. 

Phyllis has been a nurse for more than 4 decades. Her career has included medical/surgical, critical care, community, and operating room nursing. She has been a nursing instructor, pharmaceutical representative, medical device nurse consultant, and supervisor of medical review for a major insurer.


As the Executive Director of the KFCP, she is committed to supporting patients and families managing their lives on some form of dialysis, seeking kidney transplants or living life with the new normal after kidney transplantation.

Rotary Youth Exchange Short Term Experience

Parents share about their daughter Talia's exchange spending 3 weeks in France with Chloe and hosted by Chloe's parents, and then hosting Chloe for 3 weeks in their home.  They took their daughter and Chloe on short trips to various places such as NYC, Hersheypark etc.  As they will share it was a fabulous experienceince and the two families continue to stay in touch.
