Marvin Reist, President of Rescue 37 Fire Company, gave us a presentation about Rescue 37along with Grace Hope who joined the fire company in 2017 along with her mother and sister. Later Marvin gave us a tour of Station 2 located at The Public Safety Building on Linglestown Rd.and shared with us the vast training firefighters has to undergo along with what they wear/carry which in total is well over 100 lbs. Their primary response totals 4 square miles, 2 miles of the Susquehanna River, and one of the largest highway interchanges in central Pennsylvania. Rescue 37 also supports technical rescue activities and serve the the township through advanced technical rescue, fire suppression, water rescue, and medical assistance activities. We also got to climb up into their largest fire engine - well about half of us did. Rescue 37 is always looking for new volunteer fire fighters and donations to their company is greatly appreciated.
