Marvin Reist, President of the Rescue 37 Fire Company gave us a tour of the original Rescue 37 fire station 1 on N, 6th Street in Harrisburg. There are several generations of the Reist family who are firefighters today including one of his sons Larry who is Chief Rescue 37. Marv gave us a tour of the building including the banquet room, the kitchen, the original fire engine truck now registered as an antique and is not in use today other than for display, the upstairs sleeping/living quarters for several firefighters. Per Marvin, Rescue 37 would like to have young people learn more about being a firefighter and to have youth volunteer to help out with their different fundraisers.
